Commercial

The impact of load shedding on businesses in South Africa, can not be overstated.  From small, and medium to large corporations, businesses of all sizes are affected.  Power outages disrupt operations and prevent companies from reaching their production targets, resulting in loss of profit. Businesses also face additional costs, such as the potential for increased employee overtime.

The country’s power supply issues have a broad impact on every business and the economy.

Businesses are having to find cost effective ways to adapt and navigate the challenges posed by load shedding to ensure their survival and success.

We provide an array of commercial solutions, from the trusted UPS systems, to portable or permanent generators.  We offer a wide range of solar power and battery back-up solutions, together with funding opportunities with financial institutions, which empower businesses to mitigate the unending risks of load shedding.

SOLAR

By implementing a solar solution on your building, you’ll immediately mitigate the risk of load shedding power outages, and future proof your business against the continued rise and volatility of grid electricity prices.

BATTERIES

Batteries store the free electricity harnessed from the solar system, allowing commercial businesses to discharge the needed power to keep the business operational.

INVERTERS

In case of a power failure the backup system automatically switches over, via an extra fast transfer switch to the inverter, which will continue to provide power to your business

GENERATORS

We offer a large range of industrial generators that are designed and built to power commercial industries.  We provide single phase and three phase generators, catering to a vast array of power requirements.

WIND TURBINES

Capable if producing electricity at any time of the day or night, wind energy is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy sectors globally.  It offers clean, renewable and an abundant source of power.

ELECTRICAL

We provide design, installation, service and maintenance of electrical systems within any business environment and ensure that the system is designed correctly and meets with all the applicable codes and standards.

PREPAID METERS

With more and more corporations choosing office space in business parks, prepaid meters are a pleasant option for companies looking to control and monitor their usage.

MONITORING

The software systems allow you to analyse energy data, identifies patterns, and optimises energy usage, enabling you to customise energy-saving schedules and receive alerts.

Commercial Product Solutions

Designing a commercial solar solutions requires careful examining of your energy profile and long-term objectives. This combined with your business financial goals, we will present the most appropriate and optimal solar solution for your business. We will consider your current energy usage, the sun radiation factor for your area, the area of the installation and the applicable municipal and national legislation. We will then provide you with an accurate predicted energy production value and the optimal system design to meet your commercial energy requirements.

Our installation team will install your system, conforming to all the national standards and regulations, and training will be provided so you can manage your new solar system (even remotely if you prefer) to maintain peak performance for years to come.

After analysing your energy usage and requirements, our team of experts can advise you what type of energy system will best fulfil your needs. The exciting aspect of solar is that it is modular – you will be able to expand your system over time as your business grows or your requirements change.

These are the 5 most common types of energy systems for the commercial market

OFF-GRID SYSTEM

An Off-Grid system would be used for the supply of energy throughout the day and night, thus creating an independent supply from the grid with full remote monitoring activities.

GRID-TIE SYSTEM

A Grid-Tie system ensures that supplemented energy supply during the day is feeding the load from the renewable energy source or is feeding excess energy back to the national grid.

HYBRID SYSTEM

A Hybrid system is generally used for the domestic, small industry and agricultural markets where a combination of Solar, battery and grid is used for the day-to-day supply of energy.

BACK-UP SYSTEM

A Backup system is used to store excess energy produced by the solar panels for later use, or as a stand-alone system, it can supply continuous power when the grid fails (UPS) to maintain continuous operations.

PEAK-SHAVING SOLUTIONS

Levels out peaks in electricity during peak hours when Eskom tariffs are high and saves on your monthly electricity bill. In contrast, load shifting refers to a short-term reduction in electricity consumption followed by an increase in production later when power prices or grid demand is lower. Dedicated generators or electricity storage systems owned by the power consumer can be used to bridge high-prices or high-load phases.

Top consideration in designing a commercial system include

LOAD PROFILE

Quantity and time of use. This will be used to determine what type of solution will be deployed and ultimately the type and size of inverter and batteries.

ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND METERING

This is to minimize electrical losses, optimize wire runs and be able to measure and distribute power generation effectively.

ROOF CONDITION AND FACILITY STRUCTURE

This is to maximize on the available infrastructure without compromising on insurance and warranties.

FUTURE EXPANSION

This is an important factor to ensure you can expand your system over time, as and when your business grows, or when your requirements change
